After retiring from General Motors, Mr. Lutz now serves as Chairman of VIA Motors. VIA is an electric vehicle company that builds extended range electric versions of popular full size pick-up trucks, cargo vans and passenger vans for fleets. VIA’s electric power train, called “V-Drive,” allows large work vehicles to drive primarily on electricity, like the popular Chevy Volt, saving fleets millions of dollars in fuel and operating costs.
Alan Perriton, President of VIA Motors will also speak at the conference May 8th in a session focusing on the large fleets who are already leading the move to new electric work vehicles.
VIA Motors will be exhibiting several of its new extended range electric fleet vehicles including an electric cargo van, passenger van and 4WD pick-up truck, capable of averaging over 100 mpg in typical driving. Demonstration drives will be available at the show for the press and general public.
